Sophie Driver has a long standing interest in food. From the family bean harvest as a child (days of effort, which many years later is still mentioned with awe!) to professional catering she cares about where food comes from and what’s in it. As an enthusiastic and intuitive cook Sophie’s family and friends eat well. However baking seems a dark art that eludes her – birthdays are always a challenge!
Having worked in the hospitality and catering industry across the world Sophie wanted to take her belief in the importance of food to a more scientific and therapeutic level. She enrolled at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (whose alumni include Ian Marber aka ‘The Food Doctor’ and Vicki Edgson of ‘Diet Doctors’ fame), graduating in 2004 after four years of study. She has been practicing at the Broad Street Practice since 2006.
“I believe in making nutrition understandable, enjoyable, and practical to a client’s lifestyle and needs. Eating the right foods to keep us healthy should be a pleasure not a chore.”
Sophie is a member of BANT (the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy), and is registered with the CNHC (Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council).
She has completed a 2 year course in Functional Medicine and keeps up to date with new research by attending regular educational events.
She is married to Alex and they have 2 children – Georgie and Rory.
