Melda Bell joined the practice in late 2008, initially to provide maternity cover for Anthea but proved herself to be invaluable and has been with us ever since!
Mel initially graduated in osteopathy and naturopathy from BCNO (now BCOM) in 1985 and worked as an associate practitioner at the same time as running her own private practice; including an 18 month spell as clinical lead at Tyringham Naturopathic Clinic.
Following a career break to be at home with her small children, Mel undertook further study in 2007 and 2008, including two terms in the college clinic with the final year clinical students, effectively re-graduating from BCOM in 2008. Post-graduate study has included a course in Western Medical Acupuncture (Dry Needling); various seminars on shoulder pathology; and an introductory course in animal osteopathy.
Mel also holds an MSc in Animal Osteopathy. This MSc is the only course in the musculoskeletal treatment of animals which includes neurology , (along with pathology and orthopaedics), as well as encompassing a wide breadth of osteopathic thinking and ideas. Mel now runs a small animal clinic where patients can be assessed and treated at home or within Corby Veterinary Centre.
In her spare time, Mel can be found at the gym or in the garden, walking the dog, or curled up with a good book!
