Exercise Rehabilitation specialises in musculoskeletal injury management, exercise-based rehabilitation and fitness. An Exercise Rehabilitator is a practitioner trained in sport and exercise medicine, who works alongside and complements other sports and healthcare professionals.
Through private 1-2-1 Exercise Rehabilitation Sessions the patient acquires a set of unique skills that allow continued optimal participation in their relevant sporting discipline. By using a combination of soft tissue treatments, assisted stretching and exercises (and other treatments which may include dry needling techniques or athletic taping), the rehabilitator helps the patient to progressively regain motor and neuromuscular control, improve co-ordination, increase range of motion, become stronger and more flexible.
The combination of Exercise Rehabilitation and Sports Massage increases muscle flexibility and strength and promotes healing by increasing blood flow to the injured area. Healthy muscles provide protection to bones and joints therefore reducing the risk of injury.
Exercise Rehabilitation sessions are provided in a private 1-2-1 setting (in combination with massage work, needling, ultrasound, assisted stretching, taping etc as appropriate).
