Beginners Yoga Course/Classes with Elaine Robinson

Our mission is to give you the gift of space and time to nourish your body AND soul through the practice of yoga.

Elaine Robinson is a qualified Vinyasa yoga teacher who understands that starting something new can be a daunting experience and who also knows what it feels like to be the eldest and least flexible student in class!

Anyone can start yoga, regardless of age, flexibility and fitness levels. Ageing is inevitable, feeling old is not!

Elaine has designed two programmes, starting in September 2019 – a Beginners Course and a class for beginners/improvers Class that will help you improve your technique and knowledge allowing you to reap the best possible benefits from yoga.


September Beginners Course – Tuesdays 6 -7 pm

Run as a three week block, each week building on the last to give you the key ingredients on which
to build a lasting practice.

  • Week 1 – Introduction to basic yoga principles and techniques. Getting to know some basic poses
  • Week 2 – Working on your balance; a key element of yoga and essential for your core strength
  • Week 3 – Starting to create flows with a take-away flow at the end of the practice

Beginners Class – Tuesdays 7.15 – 8.15 pm

This class is for beginners, to which improvers are welcome. Each class starts with a short, guided meditation and the asana will focus on a specific body area, using correct alignment, strength and mobility utilising breath to movement techniques.

Modifications can be given so that each person can work to their full potential.

Classes are kept small to allow us to help you with your alignment, hold a safe and encouragingspace for you to learn in and allow you to learn at your own pace whilst finding the right modifications for your body.


Future classes/courses will be held in blocks – of varying length

  • September 10th, 17th & 24th
  • October 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th
  • No classes in November
  • December 8th & 15th (a short pre-Christmas course!)


£10 for each class – the complete block to be booked and paid for in advance.

All equipment will be provided but if you have your own trusty mat and blanket, you are more than welcome to bring them. Please also bring a bottle of water and wear comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothing. We would also advise you not to eat a heavy meal or drink large volumes of water  in the two hours before class.

*If you are recovering from surgery, illness or are under the care of a medical practitioner for ongoing issues, please consult them before starting any new physical activity. Please also bring along any relevant medical information they may provide. New starters will be required to fill in a health questionnaire before starting.
