Institute of Osteopathy – 20.3.20

March 20, 2020

As a regulated healthcare profession, we are guided by Government advice and they have not at this point issued any measures to shut down private practice clinics or other close-contact small businesses.

As our NHS colleagues and NHS MSK services get re-directed, there is still a role for osteopaths to support their local communities with health care and advice under these difficult times.

We understand that you may be finding it difficult to provide face to face consultations or in the best interests of your own practice, choose to move solely to telephone/video consultations.

We are providing advice to enable you to continue practice during this time, which will include assessment/infection control and telephone/video guidance, in line with Public Health England advice for the operation in healthcare settings.

We will continue advice on this issue and how it may impact on osteopathic practice.
