We're celebrating 15 years in Stamford!!!!...
We are delighted to be celebrating 15 years in Stamford. The Practice started, from scratch, in 1996 and we've now got over 9,500 registered patients. We welcome about 50 new patients every month, and deliver 100-150 treatments every week. With a team of 10 practitioners and 4 receptionists, we've come a long way from those early days!Pilates lessons
After several years without Pilates, we are pleased to be welcoming Louise Gill - a popular and established local Pilates teacher - to the practice team offering private and semi-private lessons, starting on Thursday 26th January. Initial session includes a free 15 minute consultation. 1-to-1 lesson £42, 1-to-2 lesson £63 (£31.50 each). Please contact Louise directly for further information or to book in! You can email her at louise@stamfordpilates.co.uk or call her on 07827 665916.
Modern Acupuncture
All of the osteopaths in the practice are now trained in Modern Acupuncture and are able to employ it within the scope of their existing practice. Also known as 'Dry Needling', this differs from Chinese Acupuncture, which is an ancient, complex, complete system of Medicine.
Modern Acupuncture is based on conventional anatomy, physiology and pathology. The insertion of needles stimulates the nervous system, modifying neural responses, to ease symptoms and reduce pain. Needles are inserted briefly, usually for just a few seconds, often with only 1-5 needles used per treatment session.
Acupuncture needles are solid (not hollow) and extremely fine. All acupuncture needles used in the practice are packed singly in sterile blisters and only used once.
Modern Acupuncture is mostly practiced by doctors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, nurses, podiatrists and chiropractors within the scope of their normal treatment practice. As an osteopathic patient, you may be offered this treatment in addition to osteopathy and your verbal consent will be sought. You have the right to decline.
Join our 'PLAN FOOD TO LOSE WEIGHT' programme with Sophie Driver, Nutritional Therapist
Spring is a time for new beginnings, with many people wanting to become more healthy and lose weight. Food is a central part of health and with spring and summer not too far away, now is a great time to explore eating more healthily. Eating well encourages weight loss, gives increased energy and helps us to fight off winter bugs.
Sophie Driver, our Nutritional Therapist, has developed the Food Plan to help people lose weight and keep it off. Sophie said, "Many people find losing weight a challenge and having lost it, struggle to keep it off. I've used this Food Plan with a range of clients and they've all experienced weight loss of between one and two stone, they've also felt more energised and healthier. Our diet is the root of our health so eating well and feeling good go hand in hand".
The Food Plan aims to change people's eating habits so that they gradually lose weight and the changes become routine so the weight stays off. It teaches people what and how much to eat so that they lean how to control their weight. The nine-week programme includes weekly reviews with expert support, weekly meal planners, recipes and shopping lists. A detox week can be added to help to kick-start the Food Plan and cleanse any seasonal excesses.
Testimonials -
"Sophie's Food Plan has transformed my eating habits and helped me to lose a whopping 17lb in 9 weeks. The first week was quite difficult as a lot of the foods I ate regularly were cut out, but it was just a matter of breaking old habits and learning new, healthier ones. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to eat healthier, feel better in themselves and lose a bit of weight".
"The reality of changing my eating habits has been fine and I have enjoyed some really delicious food and tried lots of different recipes. I did struggle eliminating caffeine and had a horrendous headache for the first two days. But importantly, the results in the first 6 weeks were fabulous - I lost 20lb in weight and 2½ inches from my bust, 2 inches from my waist, 3 inches from my hips and 3 inches from each thigh! I am now going to carry on with the Plan and try and lose another 14lbs and reach an ideal weight for me".
M-jog
We are delighted to offer patients M-jog - an automated text/email messaging service. M-jog will send a text or email message (free of charge) direct to our patients, about 2 days before their booked appointment. The message confirms the appointment details that we have on our computer, allowing patients to reschedule their appointment if they need to, by either text, email or good old fashioned telephone! Since introducing the system we have dramatically reduced the number of missed and late cancelled appointments - resulting in greater availability of appointments for patients who call requiring an appointment at short notice, or those needing urgent treatment. PLEASE MAKE SURE WE HAVE YOUR MOBILE PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL ADDRESS ON RECORD!
VACANCIES
The practice has a limited availability of room space to let to suitably qualified and experienced practitioners. We welcome applications from interested parties who will enhance the current therapeutic team!
