Reflexology
- Fees - see our fee schedule [here]
Reflexology is a specific pressure technique that works on precise reflex points on the hands or feet, based on the principle that these reflex points correspond to particular organs, glands and structures in the body.
In stimulating these reflex points we bring about a state of deep relaxation, stimulate the body’s own healing process and help the person return to a state of balance and well-being.
How does it help?
Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of ‘imbalance’ and vital energy pathways become blocked. This prevents the body from functioning effectively. By working with the body’s own natural resources, reflexology can help restore its natural equilibrium and encourage healing.
What conditions can it help?
- Irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive disorders
- Insomnia
- Sinus and hayfever problems
- Headaches or migraines
- Stress and tension
- Back pain
- Depression or anxiety
- Skin conditions eg. eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis
- Low energy levels, frequent colds and low immunity
Maternity Reflexology
Reflexology is also particularly beneficial in pregnancy as it is extremely relaxing and calming for before, during and after the birth reducing any stress and anxiety that may be present and helping to relieve the discomfort of minor ailments.
For example;
- Morning sickness and nausea
- Lack of sleep and fatigue
- Digestive problems eg. indigestion, reflux and constipation
- Heartburn
- Carpal tunnel syndrome and swollen ankles
- Inducing overdue babies
- Back and sciatic pain
Regular treatments during pregnancy are the perfect way to maintain balance and harmony during a time of dramatic change which involves every system of the body, as well as the emotions.
