Profile: LOUISE LIPMAN MBAcC MSc DipAc
As an experienced member of the British Acupuncture Council, I have practiced Acupuncture for 12 years in this well established Complementary Health Care Practice.
The 5000 year old philosophy of Chinese medicine comes alive for me every time a patient walks into my treatment room.
My previous job as an airline pilot may not seem immediately relevant to practicing acupuncture. However, the cockpit skills of dealing with a complex set of systems are frequently called into action in the role of Acupuncturist - being able to see clearly through the numerous symptoms that patients present with, and make sense of them.
My analytical mind was satisfied for the purposes of acupuncture when I was accepted on one of the first MSc courses in Acupuncture in the country. It also enabled me to pursue my desire to work with and help people achieve their own goals.
At the Broad Street Practice, we can work as a team for the wellbeing of patients (with the patient’s permission) and this can extend to collaboration with GP’s and other health professionals; both systems of acupuncture and conventional medicine can work well together to give a truly integrated and complementary approach to health and wellbeing.
